Is Christianity improbable or impossible ?

Raja Petra or Pete continues to hammer across the idea that
in a perfect world. Religion would be outlawed or at least
neutered. In his article 'This applies to the Christians, too'

Actually, this applies to the Christians as well. Once
Christians can accept that there is much myth and
legend in their beliefs and what they view as the
‘Holy Books’ are nothing but unproven stories and
fairy tales then maybe the Christians, too, can unlock
and liberate their minds, like what Han Xin suggests
the Muslims do.

In citing an article by Xan Yin, the Malay mind must be freed
from the 'Gates of Ijtihad' He makes comparisons between
Islam that do not carry across to Christianity or Judaism.
One does not need to go to far to see the influence of
Judaism, and Christianity on the modern world.

One merely looks at the numbers of jewish noble prize winners
on scientific discoveries in the last century alone. Along with,
theologians, Chatolic Church sponsored scientists thinkers the
likes of Sir Isaac Newton, Gregor Mendel, Thomas Aquinas etc.
Not to mention Universities like Cambridge, Oxford, Bologna,
Padua, Havard, Notre Dame etc which were originally founded
by the Church. I find it hard to believe that the Church was
Unscientific. Did the Chatolic Church contribute to the Period
of Enlightenment or not ? How does this compare to Islam.
Al-Khwārizmī the father of Ajeebra is often cited as Islam's most
compelling example under the blessing of  Caliph al-Maʾmūn,
Followed by the birth of the Sunni, and Shia split bringing forth
orthodoxy. Literally, scientific endeavors in the Islamic world
came to a stop. It amazes me how Islamophilia proponents seem
to want to paint Christianity as backwards. When it did precisely
the opposite of Islam. It progressed from the Dark Ages (persecution
of Galileo etc) to Enlightenment. Whereas Islam had a brief period of
scientific endeavor, and dropped of the cliff once its theology was fixed.

Also, can someone explain to me why the Chatolic Church maintains
its own scientific observatory today. Under the watchfull eye of PHD
Astronomer Priests. Who are given the freedom to work unhindered.
Are atheists not biased ? Really ? See University fires Christian Scientist
for a Creationist discovery. Someone is misrepresenting facts, and its
definitely, not i.
