Has Christianity abandoned the Mosaic Law ? Part III

Lastly, but not least, more propaganda by Pete

The Christian opposition to Hudud is not about civil liberties or democracy
or to uphold the principles of a Secular State. It is about a denial of the fact
that Judeo-Christians have abandoned God’s Commandments while Muslims
want to defend them.Jesus taught his followers that they have to set up the
Kingdom of God.

Far be it for me to try to convince Pete what he wants to believe Yeshua
meant. Yeshua also said

Jesus answered, "My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my
followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish
leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world." ~ John 18:36

If one thinks that he meant it literally. The verse above speaks otherwise.

He also said,

"Well, then," Jesus said, "give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give

to God what belongs to God." His reply completely amazed them.
 ~ Mark 12:17

Could there be any possible hint of separation of State and Religion ?

Has Christianity abandoned the Mosaic Law ? Part II

Continuing with Pete's comments he references verses that Christianity
has apparently abrogated

Exodus 21:16
And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand,
he shall surely be put to death. (King James Version)

Exodus 20:3
Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (King James Version)

Exodus 20:4
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any
thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in
the water under the earth. (King James Version)

I respond with a caveat. Yes (Exodus 20:3~4) and No (Exodus 21:16) to
these commands. Christians aren't Jews for one. Secondly, Pete is confusing
Mosaic Law with Jewish Tribal Law. Why did he intersperse the 10
Commandments with Talmudic Law ? As a Christian, i would nuance, the
Mosaic law into two parts, God's commands, and Jewish Tribal Law.

This was really played out, by the Apostles, between Peter and Paul.
Rightly, pointed out by Marina Lee. She however understands it as a Christian
split between separate gospels between Peter and Paul. A post-modern
interpretation that the Deity of Christ was really the Design of Paul.

Another myth fishing expedition. I suggest they start with discrediting Matthew
because its quite clear in the Great Commission he quotes Yeshua as saying

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. ~ Matthew 28:19

Very clearly, explicitly implying, that converted Christians are to be brought
into the faith in the name of the FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT i.e.
coequals

Speaking as someone who actually had a Jewish relative, been to Israel, and has.
actually attended Synagogue Services. To actually, follow Mosaic Law in its
completeness. One would have to convert to Judaism.

Per Peter and Paul's disagreement (at Antioch). Peter (Cephas) was living a
dualistic life. Living like a gentile and forcing gentile believers to observe
ritualistic law. Ritualistic law includes jewish traditions.

11 But when Cephas (Peter) came to Antioch, I protested and opposed him

to his face [concerning his conduct there], for he was blameable and stood
condemned.

12 For up to the time that certain persons came from James, he ate his

meals with the Gentile [converts]; but when the men [from Jerusalem]
arrived, he withdrew and held himself aloof from the Gentiles and [ate]
separately for fear of those of  the circumcision [party].

13 And the rest of the Jews along with him also concealed their true

convictions and acted insincerely, with the result that even Barnabas was
carried away by their hypocrisy (their example of insincerity and pretense).

14 But as soon as I saw that they were not straightforward and were not

living up to the truth of the Gospel, I said to Cephas (Peter) before
everybody present, If you, though born a Jew, can live [as you have been
living] like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how do you dare now to urge
and practically force the Gentiles to [comply with the ritual of Judaism and]
live like Jews?

~ Galatians 2:11-14.
