Christianity in the Land of the Rising Sun Part II

My favourite verse Acts 2:17 talks about Yahweh pouring out his Spirit in
the Last Days. It was spoken in the Tanakh by the Prophet Joel (Joel 2:28).

Yahweh was warning of impending danger to Jerusalem. What is the context
of vision and dreams ? Yahweh uses it, as a, final call to his people to repent
and be embraced by his Shalom.

Listen to what precedes these visions and dreams in Joel

That is why the Lord says,
“Turn to me now, while there is time.
Give me your hearts.
Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning.

Don’t tear your clothing in your grief,
but tear your hearts instead.”
Return to the Lord your God,
for he is merciful and compassionate,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
He is eager to relent and not punish.

Who knows? Perhaps he will give you a reprieve,
sending you a blessing instead of this curse.
Perhaps you will be able to offer grain and wine
to the Lord your God as before.

~Joel 2:12-14

I had had a recent dream about the Nation of Japan. In this Dream, Yahweh was
testing four Japanese Men. Off the four, only one, passed Yahweh's test. Yahweh
calls the Nation of Japan, to let go, of its Carnality.

Jews for Jesus, Cult or Heretics ?

As a Christian, i find it perplexing that among Religious
Judaism the concept of being a follower of Y'Shua, is an
anathema. It is more palatable for a Jew, to happen to,
convert to some other Religion.

If i am not mistaken Y'Shua himself was a Jewish Rabbi.
Time and time again, the term the Pharisees refered to
Y'shua was Rabbi (Teacher).

It was Y'Shua who said

34“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets

and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to
gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks
beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me. 35And now,
look, your house is abandoned. And you will never see me
again until you say,
‘Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’

b” ~ Luke 13:34

My belated Uncle was a Jewish Believer in Jesus.  A
Jewish remnant hiding among Muslims. There are no
Synagogue's in Malaysia nor could he have gone to a
local Rabbi to maintain his ties. There are simply no
Rabbi's in Malaysia. So, why did he choose Y'Shua ?
He had been really ill for sometime towards the end of
his life. He believed in his last breath that Y'shua his
Messiah was going to take him home.

Is my View of Islam Distorted ?

I would like to highlight a posting (Regime Change) on Dr. Mahathir's
website chedet made by Amin Tan per my ignorance on Islam, and
Amin's reply. I am perplexed by his answer. The reason is, his answer
does not reflect what the actual reality is, per attached picture. Therein
lies the conundrum. The answers, i get from different Muslims are
Non-Sequitor.

Dear Tun,
Please allow me to quote Mr dtan as below,
[tan

Tun,

Per Amin Tan and Sentinel3

I’ve been to a Synagogue. I’ve heard Rabbi’s preach not by
special invitation.

Why can’t a normal person visit a Mosque on a normal day, to
listen to a normal sermon. Why does it have to be a special
invitation? None of my Muslim friends have ever given me an
open invitation to a Mosque. I’ve seen advertising’s on special
invitations to non-muslims, only for special occasions. What do
they talk about during the other times. Whereas, i’ve given my
friends (Muslims, Buddhists, etc) an open invitation to come
anytime they please during regularly scheduled Church services.
It is similar with the local Synagogues in the city i live in.

I’ve read the Quran including several commentaries by Karen
Armstrong and Ali Akhbar pro-islamic writers. I’ve conversed with
a Sunni (Lebanese Engineer) in depth to compare and contrast the
Bible and Quran. Also, close conversations with a Shiite
(Design Engineer). Hung around Malay friends asked questions on
Islam in Malaysia. I don’t claim to be an Expert on Islam but i
certainly can claim i’ve been around Muslims most of my life and
know how they behave and what they believe. What is your
experience on Christianity? The reason why i like Muslim Apologist
Shabir Ali is because he understands Christianity on a personal
level i.e. has read the Bible, commentaries on both sides of the
fence and has openly debated Christian Apologists from a wide
spectrum.

I don’t make the blanket statement that Christianity is a Religion
of Peace but certainly Yeshua (Jesus) never murdered, killed or
ordered, implied, suggested the killing of non-believers in
self-defence or whatever (~ Love your Enemy. Matthew 5:44). It is
Islam that is making the blanket statement that it is a

Religion of Peace.

Shalom in Yeshua’s name

Dear Mr. dtan,

Now you sound a bit conciliatory and not so as arrogant as in the earlier
comment.

1. Invitation to a mosque. Anybody can go into a mosque as long as you
observe certain dress code and etiquette. There are tourists and visitors
almost daily visiting Masjid Negara and Masjid Putrajaya.

2. For a muslim masjid is a holy place for prayer, normally the 5 times daily
solat. When a muslim enters a masjid for prayer, he must cover his aurat and
have ablution or wuduk meaning wash himself properly. Before he sits down
it is conventional that he performs tahyatul masjid 2 rakaat. Muslims don’t sit
on a chair, unless medically need to, to pray. Everybody sits on the floor row
after row. Masjid is not a place to chit chat or talking out loud as to disturb
others’ concentration in prayer. During Friday sermon(kutbah), the imam must
follow set procedure and has to stick to verses from the Quran. Of course, some
imams stray into politically sensitive domain of Hudud. On the whole Friday
sermon is a session to urge Muslims to do good and be charitable and do not do
evils(amal maarof nahi mungkar) with the rewards and retribution in the hereafter.

3. salam, islam means peace in arabic. If there is a civil war in Syria which happens
to be a Muslim majority country, it is a distortion or manipulation of the worst kind
to say islam promote killing and murders among their own kind.

4. All these while, you have wrong impression and perception of islam and the Malays.
45 years ago, in 1969, after my HSC, I went to a state government scholarship interview
with a Malay classmate in Kota Bharu Kelantan which was under PAS government. I
was given rm500 bursary and the Malay classmate did not get anything although we
both got about similar results and admitted into University Malaya, the only university
in the country then, because his family was wealthier than mine, even though I was a
non Muslim Chinese then. Tak kenal maka tak cinta. Wallahu alam.

amin tan

There are, Closed Sessions, for Muslim Believers at the National Mosque in Kuala Lumpur

and i can certainly understand why an Imam's sermon maybe for Muslims only.
At least, until the Christian (Nasara) or Jew (Yahudi) convert has been properly
distilled into Islamic Jurisprudence .

As a roaring lion

Yeshua describes Heaven in a Parable as a King's Banquet of invited guests. Many
ignore the invitation. Some, even seize and murder his messengers. Interestingly,
i've never paid attention to this specific verse in this paragraph.

11 “But when the king came in to meet the guests, he noticed a man who wasn’t wearing
the proper clothes for a wedding. 12 ‘Friend,’ he asked, ‘how is it that you are here without
wedding clothes?’ But the man had no reply.
13 Then the king said to his aides, ‘Bind his
hands and feet and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.’
14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.”  ~ Matthew 22:1-14 NLT

Why is it? This man is not properly adorned for this wedding. The penalty, hence, this
person is cast out from Heaven.

John the Revelator mentions about the Believer who overcomes, and thus is clothed
in white and not erased from the Book of Life (Revelation 3:5)

5 All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the
Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.
~ Revelation 3:5

The passage, to me, is a little vague. Does it mean, if one does not overcome, one's
name is Blothed Out or is the emphasis on ' I will never erase their names from the
Book of Life'.

Matthew's passage, however, mentions two conditions involved in attending his Banquet.
Firstly, to Accept the Masters Invitation. Secondly, to be Properly Dressed. It is the Second
condition that threw me off.

Two passages that sticks out in my mind is 1 Peter 5 and Ephesians 6

8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion,
looking for someone to devour. ~ 1 Peter 5:8

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armour

so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we[c] are not
fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen
world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armour so you will be able to resist the enemy in the

time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting
on the belt of truth and the body armour of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the
peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.[d] 16 In addition to
all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.[e] 17 Put on
salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
~ Ephesians 6:13-17

Put on the Armour of God. It is impossible, without it, to be properly prepared to overcome
the Second Death. This Devouring is not a Physical but a Spiritual One !!!

Addendum:

I had a dream last night. I think this message is for Sentinel3 a blogger on Tun Dr. Mahathir's
Blog Chedet. In my dream, i saw a man who lived in a trailer park in squalid conditions. He
was a miserable and a neglecting father to his son. He went around breaking into cars and
stealing items around the trailer park. What was more insidious, was that he broke into his
own vehicle in order to convince his neighbours that he was also a victim. There is a second
part to this dream which i think was meant for me. Suffice to say, the Lord allows evil for a
season. He also allows lies and deception to go seemingly unnoticed. After that, comes the Judgement.

Kaum Yahudi, Kaum yang Di-Hina (Malay)

Saudara Sentinel3 September 2, 2013 at 9:32 PM dalam Blog
Tun Dr. Mahathir, Chedet membandingkan Ke-Kejam-an. Kaum

Yahudi dan Negara-Negara Barat sebagai contoh-nya ke-lawanan
terhadap Masyarakat Muslima. Oleh itu, Ke-Salahan lain, Muslima
di negara-negara timur-tengah dan lain di-pecah.

Tun,
Izinkan menjawab dtan 2 September 2013.
Saya mempunyai seorang rakan Kristian Coptic semasa melawat Mesir suatu
kanak-kanak Islam dibunuh, kaki kami digelinangi darah musuh (Islam) sehingga

Negara-Negara Barat memang Betul.
(Armenian,Kurdist,Yahudi, India, lubnan, Mesir, Syria,Afrika, Spaniol,
Iraq, Iran.…). Ke-kejaman Se-Sama Contoh yang di-Beri. Itu Statistik
dan Sejarah yang di-buat dari Doktor. Bill Warner dan juga Doktor.
Mark Gabriel.

Doktor Gabriel semasa laku se-orang Profesor Di-Universiti Al-Azhar.
Nama-nya di-tukar kerana Kaum Arab yang hina kepada-nya kerana
ke-takutan keselamatan jiwa-nya.

merekalah dipercayakan firman Allah.
17 dan jalan damai tidak mereka kenal;
hukum Taurat orang mengenal dosa. ~ Roma 3:1-20

Kepada sdr wajapoerak, terima kasih atas maklumat anda.
Salam Tun.

Sila nyatakan
sebagai bukti-bukti. Saya terbuka untuk perbincangan dalam Blog saya.

Christianity in the Land of the Rising Sun

In the mid fifteenth century the Jesuits arrived on the Island of Kyushu.
Japan today, has one of the smallest numbers of Christian followers among
Southeast Asian nations. Only 1%, small compared to Korea whose followers
are in 40% range.

Of the hundreds of missionaries that had committed their lives to spreading the
Message of Yeshua. I've wondered, of no fault, to the Japanese, or Christians who
came to spread the Master's Message. Why so few,  respond to the Master.

Kiyoshi-San (Clip 1 - Homeless in Tokyo), knows why.  He has met the Master.

22 Jesus also told them other parables. He said, “The Kingdom of Heaven can be
illustrated by the story of a king who prepared a great wedding feast for his son.
When the banquet was ready, he sent his servants to notify those who were invited.
But they all refused to come!
“So he sent other servants to tell them, ‘The feast has been prepared. The bulls and
fattened cattle have been killed, and everything is ready. Come to the banquet!’ But
the guests he had invited ignored them and went their own way, one to his farm,
another to his business. Others seized his messengers and insulted them and killed
them.
“The king was furious, and he sent out his army to destroy the murderers and burn
their town. And he said to his servants, ‘The wedding feast is ready, and the guests I
invited aren’t worthy of the honor. Now go out to the street corners and invite everyone
you see.’ 10 So the servants brought in everyone they could find, good and bad alike,
and the banquet hall was filled with guests.

Prophetic Dreams and Visions

In the Prophetic realm both the Old and New Testament attest
to Yahweh giving personal or general messages to his people.
These are commonly known as a Revelation. The most prominent
one being the Revelation of John.

Lately, on my mind. I was troubled by several things. Namely,
the idea of Repentance and Forgiveness of Sins. Also, the Hebrew
Nation's connection to Yahweh. Specifically, Modern Day Israel.
Hebrews believe that the Dead transition from Gehenna a place of
spiritual purification for the wicked dead in Judaism to Olam Ha-Ba
(world to come). Islam purports that Allah weighs the Righteous Deeds
versus Evil ones on a scale to determine who goes to Paradise.
Mainstream Christianity is broken into Armenian versus Calvinist
Theology. In layman's terms both generally believe that the Blood of
Yeshua is the means whereby Sins are Forgiven once and for all.
How they differ, Calvinists believe in 'Once Saved always Saved'.
Armenians believe that 'Once Saved followed by Repentance Saved'.
Both have valid scriptural arguments. I did not write this to debate the
efficacy of one or the other, but rather, share a dream that i had.

In my Dream. A Dark Cloak enveloped me. It Scared Me in my mind
and i also heard a voice saying Luke 7.  These are two conclusions
i came up with. The Centurion represents the Goyim (Nations) and
his devotion to Yeshua's Brethren. The Woman with the Alabaster
Perfume Jar, came to the Master, in Sorrow, and received Unconditional
Forgiveness. Only the Master can Forgive Sin and her action of Loving
Much was the fruit of repentance. What do you think?

When Jesus had finished saying all this to the people, he returned to
Capernaum. At that time the highly valued slave of a Roman officer[a]
was sick and near death. When the officer heard about Jesus, he sent
some respected Jewish elders to ask him to come and heal his slave. So
they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man. “If anyone deserves your help,
he does,” they said, “for he loves the Jewish people and even built a
synagogue for us.” ~ Luke 7: 1-5 NLT

36 One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to have dinner with him, so Jesus went
to his home and sat down to eat.[h] 37 When a certain immoral woman from
that city heard he was eating there, she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled
with expensive perfume. 38 Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping.
Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept
kissing his feet and putting perfume on them. 39 When the Pharisee who had
invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would
know what kind of woman is touching him. She’s a sinner!”
40 Then Jesus answered his thoughts. “Simon,” he said to the Pharisee, “I have
 something to say to you.”
“Go ahead, Teacher,” Simon replied.
41 Then Jesus told him this story: “A man loaned money to two people—
500 pieces of silver[i] to one and 50 pieces to the other. 42 But neither of them
could repay him, so he kindly forgave them both, canceling their debts. Who do
you suppose loved him more after that?”
43 Simon answered, “I suppose the one for whom he canceled the larger debt.”
“That’s right,” Jesus said. 44 Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon,
“Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn’t offer
me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears
and wiped them with her hair. 45 You didn’t greet me with a kiss, but from the
time I first came in, she has not stopped kissing my feet. 46 You neglected the
courtesy of olive oil to anoint my head, but she has anointed my feet with rare
perfume.
47 “I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown
me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.” 48 Then
Jesus said to the woman, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 The men at the table said among themselves, “Who is this man, that he goes around
 forgiving sins?”
50 And Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
 ~ Luke 7: 36-50 NLT

Is Christianity Prejudiced Against Islam ?

Malaysia Bagus June 21, 2013 at 10:58 AM on Tun Dr. Mahathirs Blog Chedet (Racial Polarization) raised an interesting conundrum against Christianity and Judaism. Is Christianity, prejudiced against Islam. I would like to address the writers statements.

For the true Muslims. As far as social pluralism is concerned, Islam seeks for peaceful co-existence and mutual tolerance between the people of different religions and cultures. Among the three Abrahamic religions, it is only Islam which has accorded recognition to Judaism and Christianity. Judaism does not recognize Jesus as the awaited Messiah or the Prophet; and Christianity does not recognize Muhammad (S) as the true Prophet and Messenger of God.

Co-existing cultures, provide for equal access via meritocracy, for all its peoples, to all of societies benefits. Dhimitude “Second Class Status Citizens” and Jizya “ Taxes for Non-Muslims" are Islamic doctrines passed down directly from its inception. The writer either knows very well or is unaware of  how Non-Muslims perceive their status . Is Malaysia an equitable society? Do large numbers of Chinese, Indians or Native Iban, Kadazan,…. agree that it is so.
It appears to be some prejudice to the fact that Islam is left out by Christians and the Jews. Actually, I will allow the ‘Prophet’ to explain, why? ‘They’ referring to the Jews and/or Christians questioned him per his authority. This was his answer in the Quran

[29:50]   They said, "If only miracles could come down to him from his Lord!" Say, "All miracles come only from GOD; I am no more than a manifest warner."

[29:51]   Is it not enough of a miracle that we sent down to you this book, being recited to them? This is indeed a mercy and a reminder for people who believe.

He himself failed to answer. His only answer was, he was just a warner, not a prophet with any sign or miracle except for his ‘book’. He admitted he was a warner with no prophetic or supernatural ties. Indeed, there are many Muslim Apologists today who can concoct references to biblical passages that foresaw the coming of the ‘Prophet’. Why didn’t he himself provide evidence. Why? because he didn’t have any direct evidence.

Yeshua himself was challenged by his Brethren whom he answered in  John 2:18-22

18The Jews then said to Him, “What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?”Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”The Jews then said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”But He was speaking of the temple of His body.So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

Islam considers the Christian and the Jewish communities as “the People of the Book” or “the People of Scripture” (Ahlul Kitab). Islam has even allowed a Muslim man to marry a Christian or Jewish woman, but not those from the other faiths.

Christianity (New Testament) does not specifically dis-allow inter-marriage. It however, warns of the consequences of being ‘unequally yoked’ (2 Cor 6:14) and therefore burdened by strive. Moreover, Christianity sanctifies the un-believer in an inter-marriage so as not committing a greater sin by divorce. Unlike Islam it is not so easy to divorce in a Church. Committed Christians do not have the option of saying ‘I divorce thee’ 3X. The Mosaic Law allows for divorce because of Sin and Hardening of Hearts.

What is noteworthy is that Islam accorded this recognition to the Ahlul Kitab fourteen centuries ago when there was absolutely no talk of tolerance among people of different faiths or an ecumenical movement among religions.
On a socio-political level, a Muslim government would readily sign an agreement with its Christian and Jewish minorities. Imam `Ali Zainul `Abidin, the great-grandson of the Prophet, writes:
“It is the right of the non-Muslims living in a Muslim country that you should accept what Allah has accepted from them and fulfill the responsibilities which Allah has accorded them… And there must be a barrier keeping you from doing any injustice to them, from depriving them of the protection of Allah, and from flaunting the commitments of Allah and His Messenger concerning them. Because we have been told that the Holy Prophet said, ‘Whosoever does injustice to a protected non-Muslim, I will be his enemy (on the Day of Judgement).’”

Why did the writer not quote. Koran 9:29, says to attack the People of the Book until they pay the jizyah, the dhimmi tax, submit to Sharia law and be humbled. Imam Ali was murdered by the Sunni’s. Also, I could quote multiple passages in the Hadith that contradict with the sanctity of Muslim governance. For relevance, I will stick with the Quran. Specifically, with the following Quranic verse in Chapter 109 that the writer chose to magnify as to perceived Muslim Righteousness.

Although Islam does not accord to followers of other religions the same recognition that it has accorded to Jews and Christians, it believes in peaceful co-existence with them. One of the earliest messages of peaceful co-existence given by the Prophet Muhammad (S) to the idol-worshipers of Mecca is reflected in Chapter 109 of the Quran:

قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ. لاَ أَعْبُدُ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ. وَلاَ أَنْـتُمْ عَابِدُونَ مَا أَعْبُدُ. وَلاَ أَنَا عَابِدٌ مَا عَبَدتُّمْ. وَلاَ أَنْـتُمْ عَابِدُونَ مَا أَعْبُدُ. لَكُمْ دِينُكُمْ وَلِيَ دِينِ

Say: “O unbelievers! Neither do I worship what you worship; nor do you worship what I worship. Neither am I going to worship what you worship; nor are you going to worship what I worship. To you shall be your religion and to me shall be my religion.”

This is my transliteration of the text as I see it:

Qul̊ yā ạảyũhā ạl̊kāfirūna. Lạa ạảʿ̊budu mā taʿ̊budūna. Walạa ạản̊tum̊ ʿābidūna mā ạảʿ̊budu. Walạa ạảnā ʿābiduⁿ mā ʿabadtũm̊. Walạa ạản̊tum̊ ʿābidūna mā ạảʿ̊budu. Lakum̊ dīnukum̊ walīa dīni

Say O Infidel’s (al-kafiruna) . I do not worship what you worship. Nor do you worship what I worship. I'm not a Slave (abed) served. Nor do you worship what I worship. Your religion and I have mine

Al-Kafiruna is quite a despicable thing to call a Non-Muslim. This is evidenced by the large numbers of kafir’s murdered during Islam’s expansion. One only needs to Google Dr. Bill Warners statistics on the spread of Islam. I suppose that the writer is  also not aware that there are 40 arabic terms for a slave. ‘Abed’ being a Black Slave and the lowest of the low. Again, if you Google Islam’s involvement in Slave trading with an objective mind. One would be surprised at the extent of Islam’s involvement in Slavery. I must admit Christianity has exposed ‘sores and warts’. The difference is. Christianity moved from the Dark Ages to Enlightment, and had readily admitted to its involvement. Christianity spurred changes by the Quakers, American Abolitionist Movement, and Dr. Martin Luther Kings African-American Civil Rights Movement. Who does the writer think the early Slave Traders got their Slaves from. Think hard…..

From the historical perspective, the treatment that Muslim societies have given to the minorities under their rule, especially the Christians and the Jews, is comparatively better than the way minorities were treated in Christian Europe.

Jews and Gentiles one in Messiah Revisited

In an earlier Post. I mentioned my trip to Israel, a dream i had, and on my mind
recently. A common team among Messianic Jews is the phrase

 Baruch Hashem Adonai

which means 'Blessed' , 'His Name', 'The LORD'

Those who can transliterate the last word, know it is pronounced Yod Heh Vav Heh.
Hebrews believe (YHVH), too Holy to be pronounced a loud. Often, the sentenced
is translated. Blessed is he who comes in the Name of the Lord.  The word Hashem
is understood by Hebrews to be another name of God i.e 'His Name'. So literally, you
could say BLESSED, LORD, LORD

It was Yeshua who said

For I tell you this, you will never see me again until you say, 'Blessings on the one
comes in the name of the LORD!'" ~ Matthew 23:39 NLT

He was speaking to Jerusalemites in Israel, which caused me to surmise that Israel
will experience a massive revival in the Last Days. Israel has a menagerie of cultures,
more so, than any Arab country in the middle-east. It may be hard to comprehend
but i believe Yeshua is reaching out to the Muslims in the Middle East in the midst
of Trials and Tribulations
